Daana proudly presents Onam Sadhya - a grand sit-down banquet to mark the auspicious beginning of the rice harvest season and a major cultural festival lasting over a period of 10 days in the state of Kerala, India.
A pure vegetarian feast and culinary experience with over 30 food items/dishes, cooked and served with love, as a single course. Following traditions, the Daana's Onam Sadhya will be a communal banquet served on banana leaf.
The Sadhya (feast) consists of a mix of sweet, salty, sour, bitter and astringent flavors for the new year Vishu meal. These traditional festive recipes, that combine different flavors, are a symbolic reminder that one must expect all flavors of experiences in the coming new year, that no event or episode is wholly sweet or bitter, experiences are transitory and ephemeral, and to make the most from them. The feast incorporates anywhere from 20 to about 50 different food items served on a banana leaf in a communal/ family banquet.
Daana Sadhya is not a day for moderation, eat to your heart's content with our generous unlimited servings!
